Starting a Company in Cyprus: The First 5 Steps

Starting a company in Cyprus may seem complicated at first, but once you understand the process, things become much clearer. Here are the main steps to get your business started on the right foundation.

1

Choosing and Approving Your Company Name.

The first step is choosing a name for your company and submitting it to the Registrar of Companies for approval. It’s always useful to have one or two alternative names ready, just in case your first choice isn’t available.

2

Preparing the Incorporation Documents.

Once the name is approved, the necessary incorporation documents are prepared. These include the company’s memorandum and articles of association, as well as details of its directors, shareholders and registered office.

3

Completing the Company Registration Package.

The next step is to complete the necessary registrations with the relevant authorities and platforms, ensuring the company is properly set up from the beginning.

4

Opening a Corporate Bank Account.

The next step is to open a dedicated bank account for the company, keeping its business finances properly organised and separate from personal transactions.

5

Setting Up the Bookkeeping and Payroll Structure.

A proper structure from the beginning helps keep the company’s financial records organised and ensures its ongoing obligations are managed efficiently.
